CONSTITUTION
1. Title:
The title of the organisation shall be the Salford Cricket Development Group, hereafter referred to as the S.C.D.G -
2. Objectives:
The objectives of the S.C.D.G. shall be:-
a) To foster and encourage boys and girls to participate in cricket and to encourage them to continue to play into adult life.
b) To encourage boys and girls to become proficient at the game, thereby increasing their enjoyment.
c) To co-ordinate cricket activities in conjunction with any other kindred organisations having similar objectives.
d) To support and implement any recommended Coaching and Award Schemes.
e) To advise and assist on the provision and improvement of facilities for playing and practice of cricket.
f) To arrange cricket schools, coaching courses and demonstrations for the benefits of young players and volunteers.
g) To improve and encourage closer links between cricket clubs and primary / secondary schools.
3. Membership:
Membership of the SCDG. shall be open to all those clubs and organisations interested in the development and promotion of cricket in Salford.
4. The Officers and Committee:
a) The Officers shall consist of Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer
b) The committee shall consist of the Officers and I representative from each of the clubs and organisations listed below:-
Clifton Cricket Club
lrlam Cricket Club
Little Hulton Cricket Club
Monton / Weaste Cricket Club
Roe Green Cricket Club
Swinton Moorside Cricket Club
Walkden Cricket Club
Winton Cricket Club
Worsley Cricket Club
1 representative from Salford Schools Cricket
1 representative from Salford Sports Development Team
1 representative from Salford Women's Cricket
5. Meetings of the Committee:
The committee shall meet on at least three occasions per year in addition to the AGM.
All decisions taken at committee meeting shall be by a simple majority In the case of a tied vote, the chairman of the meeting shall have a second (casting) vote.
The quorum for such meetings shall be 2 officers and 2 members entitled to be present.
6. Day to Day running:
The day to day running of the SC.DG. shall be vested in the officers who shall require the ratification of the Committee of all decisions taken.
7. Finance and Management:
The Committee shall administer the finance and management of all affairs of the S.C.D.G. as determined at the meetings.
8. Financial Year:
The financial year shall end on the 31" January of each year.
9. Annual General Meeting:
The AGM shall be held after the end of the financial year at a time and place stipulated by the committee. Notices covering the AGM shall be sent to all members of the SCDG at least two weeks before the date of the meeting.
10. Business of the AGM:
1) The business to be conducted at tbe AGM shall be:
a) To approve the minutes of the last AGM
b) Accounts to be audited at the AGM
c) To receive, and if thought fit, to adopt the audited Statement of Accounts
d) To elect the Officers and Committee
e) To discuss any other relevant business of which prior notice has been given to the secretary.
2) Voting:
The Councils Officers, Committee and any other bona fide members present at shall be entitled to one vote. In the event of tied vote, the chairman of the meeting shall have a second (casting) vote Decisions shall be by a simple majority
3) Quorum:
The quorum for the AGM shall be 2 officers and 2 members entitled to be present.
11. Nominations:
Nominations of Officers and members of the committee must be in the hands of the secretary, in
writing,no later than one week before the AGM.
12. Changes to the Constitution:
No change may be made to this constitution except by an AGM of which due notice has been given.
The notice convening the AGM must give, in full, any proposed change to the constitution.
13. Disbandment:
In the event of the disbandment of the S.C.D.G. all available assets, after the discharge of any
liabilities, shall be passed equally to the members of the S.C.D.G.
